I had one for a rental car once. I had the exact same experience as you when trying to accelerate. It just...didn’t. But I thought the sound it made while arguing with you about if you actually wanted to accelerate sounded like “wahhhnnng.” So to keep myself amused I started saying “wahhhnnng” whenever I pressed the gas and the car fought back. Didn’t make it accelerate any better though.

I’ve rented one of these before. Not a racecar, but waaay faster than my old Wagon that’s for sure lol :] Interior was nice and it did the job well. Roomy rear seats and a huge boot. Engine had plenty of that typical low end power. Look are ok. Seats were comfy. Drove pretty good. All in all, it was ok

That was an accurate summation of my girlfriends 2008 2.5 Altima. Yes it gets good gas but it abhors acceleration.

It’s one of those inoffensive cars for people who just need some car to get around in and can fit a bunch of stuff in. In this segment, though, I think most enthusiasts would go with the Accord or 6 since they still have manual options.

If you’re gonna go for the 4-banger, I think you get the Mazda. If you want the 6, well, obviously, you have to get the Accord.
